In my practice I specialise in working with people who struggle with Anxiety. Anxiety is different for everybody and we all react differently to all kinds of situations. So it is important that you become aware of your thoughts, feelings, sensations and reactions to your life situations. This will allow you to have a better understanding in dealing with your anxiety. The more aware we become of our triggers the sooner we can deal with these feelings and centre ourselves in a more grounded place. Your patterns of functioning can be deeply ingrained in you which you may or may not be aware that you are avoiding situations to keep your anxiety at bay. Often anxiety is,
1, Worries about the future.
2, Ruminations about the past.
3, Thoughts about being in danger.
4, Critical thoughts about self.
Do you have any of these body sensations, Rapid heart rate, dizziness lightheadedness, sweating, shortness of breath, blushing, trembling or shaky feelings, dry mouth, stomach distress, tension or soreness in the neck, shoulders, or any other muscles, headaches, fatigue, irritability and other sensations. I am trained as a Gestalt psychotherapist. Gestalt derives from the German word for wholeness. The aim of Gestalt therapy is for a person to discover, explore, experience and accept all aspects of themselves. I work with you on your whole sense of being. This can include thoughts, feelings, body awareness, dreams, sensations and spiritually treating every part of you as being equally important.
Our first session is an opportunity to share any issues that are causing you distress, ask questions and to get a feel of the way I work and my approach. I can also gain a better understanding of what you are wanting from therapy. You can then make an informed decision as to whether you feel comfortable working with me and I can assess whether therapy is appropriate for you.
- Before setting up my private practice I worked with young people aged 11 to 25 for a charity where I was part of the management committee. I have worked with woman survivors of sexual abuse and in private practice in the mental health sector for 7 years.

- Metropolitan University of London: Gestalt Counselling Diploma.
- Chichester University: Counselling skills.
- I have also trained with the Pacific Gestalt Institute LA under Gary Yontef and Lynne Jacobs in a residential setting.
