Criteria For Practising Counsellors

As counsellors safe and ethical therapy is paramount within our work. With this in mind, here at Libero we have established two divisions for counsellors to practice under: Associate member and Affiliate member.

Associate member

Associate members are required to meet the criteria below which enables counsellors to pull together as part of a group practice. This accumulative experience and wisdom is utilised to expand existing client bases and developmental programs within the surrounding areas.

  • Accredited Status
  • Minimum of three years verified practice, post qualification.
  • Appropriate current supervision arrangements in line with Accredited requirements.
  • Current professional indemnity insurance.
  • Committed to working a minimum of one day per week at the practice.
  • Minimum of four months practicing at Libero Counselling
  • Two relevant professional references.
  • Disclosure of any past or current complaints or disciplinaries.
  • Ongoing commitment to training and personal development.
  • Compliance and acceptance of practice code of conduct.
  • Trainings can be hosted by non associates of good standing.
  • Signature and compliance of practice contract
  • Any exception can only be made with the unanimous agreement of all current associates.

Affiliated members

Affiliated members are required to meet the criteria below which enables the counsellors to practice from Libero where they will be supported to gain experience and expand their client base. If appropriate, Affiliated members may work towards Associate member status if desired.

  • Member of recognised Counselling and Psychotherapy governing body
  • Min of 100 hours post qualification.
  • Appropriate current supervision arrangements in line with requirements
  • Current professional indemnity insurance.
  • Two relevant professional references.
  • Disclosure of any past or current complaints or disciplinaries.
  • Ongoing commitment to training and personal development.
  • Compliance and acceptance of practice code of conduct.
  • Trainings can be hosted by non associates of good standing.
  • Signature and compliance of practice contract.
  • Any exception can only be made with the unanimous agreement of all current associates.
